Offering a Certificate in Dispute Resolution, Master of Dispute Resolution, and seven different LLM degrees, lawyers and non-law practitioners can all learn the skills to manage conflict in a variety of settings. Hands on faculty, small class sizes, diverse student body, and flexible schedules make its academic programs ideal for achieving a wide variety of professional goals. The LLM in Dispute Resolution is considered the premier program in dispute resolution and offers students the most amount of flexibility in their dispute resolution education. This 26-unit program can be completed over the course of two semesters and is structured with a balance of theory and practice; students will focus on a variety of ADR mechanisms including negotiation, mediation, and arbitration, as well as gain practice through the requisite Mediation Clinic and Externship program.

The LLM in International Commercial Arbitration is designed to combine a robust academic foundation, a capstone practice experience in which every student will gain experience in a mock international arbitration setting, methodical examination and practice of the negotiation and mediation processes, and enough electives for students to be able to take electives to sit for the New York or California bar exam.

The Bar Track LLM is designed for students interested in completing an LLM degree as a way to become eligible to sit for the Bar exam in California and/or New York. Loyola has one of the highest bar passage rates in California and its faculty has extensive experience in training students for the bar exam. Our Bar Track LLM takes advantage of this experience and offers to our students a unique course of study, created by keeping in mind the specific challenges that foreign law graduates face when preparing for the bar exam.

Students who complete the LLM Specialization in Criminal Justice will have a matchless opportunity for exposure to and concentrated study in the law and skills necessary to train as an advocate for a criminal prosecution or defense setting.
